Sequel to ‘Finding Nemo’ Announced: ‘Finding Dory’
Had it been announced a day earlier, viewers would have thought it was an April Fool’s Prank: Disney Pixar’s official Facebook page for Dory, the memorable (and “not so memorable”) beloved fish from Finding Nemo, posted the image above today, and announced that the sequel, ‘Finding Dory’, will be released in 2015.
Ellen Degeneres is reprising her role as the titular character. Dory was introduced in the first film as a fish all alone in the ocean, but in this installment she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way. “’I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,’ said DeGeneres. ‘I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.’” [IGN]
