...and now a word from Family Video:
Michael Douglas Tapped to Play Ronald Reagan in Film Produced by Ridley Scott
Michael Douglas has been tapped to play another President in the upcoming film, “Reykjavik”.  Though nothing has been officially signed as of yet, Douglas is in talks to star as Ronald Reagan in a film called “Reykjavik”.  Douglas once played Andrew Shepard, a fictional President of the United States in the 1995 film, “The American President”.
“Reykjavik takes place over a few days in 1986, when Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev met for talks in the Icelandic capital to iron out peace against the backdrop of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.” [HR]
Participant Media, best known for backing the Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, will finance the film.  Originally intended to be Ridley Scott’s directorial project, Scott is now producing, with Mike Newell (director of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”) in talks to direct.
